About ... the business
The winter of 2005 had us all muttering White Marlie as we trudged
through the snow. January proved to be our breaking point. Jess and
I gave our notices and left our advertising jobs in search of White Marlie.
We went out on a limb and created a custom design shop that catered
to the maritime lifestyle. We bought an embroidery machine and
designed logos for sportfishing boats and sailing teams. The sign at
the front of our shop read "White Marlie". By the end of our first year
we had learned that we were not the only one's searching for White Marlie.
