About ... the name
The concept of White Marlie came together one day 90 miles South of Nantucket. Having grown up fishing off of Chatham for Giant Blue Fin Tuna, we had set off the night before in search of something different. That something different turned out to be a White Marlin. As we made the long journey home every thought and conversation ultimately returned to the successful catch and release of our first White Marlin. By the time we hit the docks our first billfish had morphed into a "White Marlie". The tropical blue water of the gulf stream, the sun, the non-stop action of the day's fishing and I'm sure a few refreshments had left us all feeling that we never wanted to go back to work. From that day forward, uttering the words White Marlie put us back out there on the water.
